Why We Keep Score

In many ways, sports at Nueva reflect the ethos of the school. There are few things more experiential than going to practices and games five or six times a week for over three months. Talk about “learn by doing!”

Cheering Each Other On

This is the best of Nueva: students engaging in the joy of learning and productive struggle together, and celebrating the wins of their classmates.

Snapshots: Tuesday Morning in the Lower School

On a late Tuesday morning, the Lower School building was alive with the sounds of learning, laughter, and transitions. Classes moved through a busy morning of art, math, music, snack breaks, and play, with plenty of opportunities to create, experiment, and explore along the way.

Leaning Into the Wobble

It was only this year when I walked on to the San Mateo campus, well into my fourth year, that I felt like I belonged. Up until this point, I would get to campus during “work week” and this place would feel unpredictable, uncharted, and unfathomable. Lee Fertig

Head of School

"Nueva is more than just a school for gifted learners. It’s more than just a place where students focus on design thinking and social emotional learning. It’s a beloved community, inclusive and compassionate, collectively embracing diverse perspectives and empowering everyone to make choices that benefit the world."
