Annual Benefit
Each spring, our community comes together to have fun and show our support for Nueva! This year we announced a new concept for this beloved event. Renamed the Be a Maverick Benefit, the evening is focused exclusively on funding financial assistance for students, as we expand our efforts in this area. We look forward to going on this journey with all of you.
The Be a Maverick Benefit raises crucial funds for financial assistance for students. We are proud of our efforts to make a Nueva education accessible to all, enabling us to provide financial assistance to approximately 20 percent of our student body.

Even a global pandemic couldn't keep the Nueva community from a great party! When COVID-19 forced us to cancel the April 4 benefit auction just a few weeks before it was scheduled to take place, our auction committee rallied and hosted Nueva’s first-ever virtual benefit auction, rechristened California Streamin’.

Prince and Axl Rose. Scrunchies and crimped hair. A kaleidoscope of neon, sparkle, and rainbow Slinky toys. Last week’s Annual Benefit Auction was so rad even Marty McFly would travel Back to the Future just to be there.

Community, Generosity, and Inspiration at the Annual Benefit Auction, "Beyond the Yellow Brick Road"
On Saturday, March 24, Nueva families, trustees, leadership, faculty, and staff gathered at the Annual Benefit Auction to raise funds for student financial aid. The evening's festivities, themed “Beyond the Yellow Brick Road,” celebrated an important Nueva tradition of coming together as a community to support meaningful fundraising for the school.

Perhaps when you hear the word “auction" you think of a hushed room full of serious people holding paddles, bidding on mysterious artifacts. In true Nueva fashion, it should come to no surprise that the Annual Benefit Auction has transformed that model into an fun, inclusive, and community-driven fundraising event.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, Nueva’s Annual Benefit Auction will return to Hillsborough for an evening of fun, fundraising, and community-building. This year the theme is “Beyond the Yellow Brick Road,” and volunteers are creating a beautiful, celebratory event.

During the last week of September, a team of eight faculty and administrators, representing all three Nueva divisions, traveled to Portland, Oregon for a three-day workshop focused on Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching.
