Each year, a Nueva alum is asked to speak at the end-of-year athletics celebration and reflect on his or her time as a Nueva student-athlete and what he or she learned through involvement in our program. This year, we were honored to welcome back Audrey Chin '19, freshman at Harvard University and a member of the Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving Team. Audrey shared these reflections.
Nueva’s athletics program has achieved great success as a PreK–12 school.
Our students pursue multiple passions, and, for many, representing Nueva as scholar-athletes is vital to their experience. Our participation is significant for such a young program: 64% of students in grades 4–8 and 50% of Upper School students participate in Nueva athletics.
For this year’s virtual athletics celebration, Athletics Director Chris Wade and the entire Athletics Department welcomed alum Audrey Chin ’19, a member of the Harvard Women’s Swimming and Diving (HWSD) Team, and keynote speaker Schuyler Bailar, former Harvard swimming and transgender activist.
The winter athletics season has come to a close, so it’s time to share how the season went for our Nueva athletics programs.
It’s hard to believe the fall sports season is behind us and winter sports are in full swing. Before we move ahead full steam, let’s take a look back at our student-athletes’ successful fall season.
