Evidence of Academic Standing (Lower and Middle school programs only)
To ensure that all Nueva Summer students are equipped to succeed in our programs, we require that campers meet certain academic eligibility. If you are new to Nueva Summer, and aren't a school year Nueva student, you must upload the following documentation at the time of registration. We strongly prefer option 1 because it's easier to assess if your student is a good fit for our program, but if testing is not available we do not require families to seek out/pay for additional testing which is why we include a backup option.
If your student does not meet the requirements, we will cancel your registration and issue a full refund. Note that international students are welcome to register but our camp is not equipped to support students without English fluency.

Option #1 (preferred): Recent Standardized Test Score We look for students who have scored in the 90th percentile on any recent standardized test (e.g. CAASP, CoGAT, ERB, i-ready, isee, IXL Diagnostic, MAP, SCAT, etc). A document must be uploaded at the time of registration. We do not require WPPSI, WISC, or other IQ test scores for Nueva Summer but if your child has already taken the test you are welcome to submit the results as proof of academic eligibility. |
or |
Option #2: Recent School Report Card + Teacher Recommendation If test scores are not available, please submit a copy of your child's most recent report card and a current teacher recommendation. Teacher recommendations should address a student's readiness for our program and be formatted on official letterhead. Letters can be uploaded by parents at the time of registration or sent to summer@nuevaschool.org. Note that a narrative report with both grades and teacher comments can be used in lieu of a teacher recommendation. If the report is only letters/numbers, please take the additional step of requesting a teacher letter. |

Financial awards
Financial awards (FA) are available for families who qualify. Nueva families automatically receive the same FA as they do during the school year and do not need to submit additional documentation. Qualifying non-Nueva families may receive financial assistance for up to two weeks of camp per camper; additional weeks may be purchased at full cost. To apply for financial assistance:
- Submit the Financial Assistance Application Form. You must upload a copy of the first two pages of your 2025 federal tax return. We cannot complete processing your application without these documents, but you are welcome to submit the form partially complete in order to move on to step 2 before the tax documents are ready.
- After you submit your application, our team will send you a code that allows you to register with no upfront tuition cost. Please note: all campers are still required to pay the non-refundable $50 registration fee at checkout.
- Once your award amount is finalized, it will be applied to your CampBrain account. We will then charge any remaining balance to the credit card on file.
