- All School
Dear parents, guardians, and colleagues,
As we discussed today during our community meeting, we want to confirm our health and safety plans for the remainder of this school year, the summer, and the upcoming 2021–2022 academic year. As most of you already know, we are very excited to fully reopen on campus for all students, five days per week, in the 2021–22 school year. Currently, we expect all students and employees to participate in onsite learning, teaching, and work as of late August. We do not anticipate offering remote or hybrid learning in the fall.
Current protocols used through the end of the 2020–2021 school year
With only one full week remaining in this academic year, no changes are being made to our current health and safety protocols. All students, employees, and contractors will test one more time next week (June 9 or 10) either onsite or offsite, regardless of vaccination status. Additionally, all of us who learn and work onsite will continue to screen daily, distance, mask, and refrain from gathering unless explicitly approved and organized by the school according to public health guidelines.
Plans for the summer and the 2021–22 school year
All employees, contractors, parents, and students who are eligible (currently 12 years of age and older) should be vaccinated in order to be on campus as of July 1. Vaccinations, except where medical and religious exemptions might apply, must be documented via this vaccination registration form for employees and contractors or the student form. Exemption requests and other questions may be directed to the Nueva health office (email@example.com) or the human resources department (firstname.lastname@example.org) for employees.
Other health and safety protocols
All community members will continue to be required to complete the health questionnaire screening every day they are on campus. In addition, distancing and masking while indoors will be strongly recommended when practical and required when necessary, especially at the Hillsborough campus where many of our students may not yet be vaccinated. As always, we will make informed decisions about mask use based on county guidance, which we expect to receive by mid-summer. Surveillance testing, currently being conducted weekly in a comprehensive fashion, might shift to periodic sampling depending on evolving public health conditions and guidance. However, unvaccinated students (currently those younger than 12) will continue to be tested weekly and they are expected to be vaccinated as soon as they become eligible.
Parents and guardians
We are also excited to see vaccinated parents and guardians on campus next school year. Those who wish to spend time on campus will need to confirm their complete vaccination status by August 1 or no later than one week before their first visit to campus by completing this brief vaccination registration form for Nueva parents, guardians, and other community members. Questions may be directed to the Nueva health office at email@example.com.
We will provide updates as appropriate with community-wide correspondence taking place in mid-July and mid-August. In the meantime, please feel free to connect with us at Questions21firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are grateful for your partnership, collaboration, and support and look forward to being together again onsite in the new school year.
Best wishes for a safe, healthy, and restorative summer,
