CN Swimming10th grader Christopher R. took first place in the 100-yard backstroke at the WBAL swim finals on Saturday to earn Nueva its first ever individual swimming title. He also placed 3rd in the 200-yard IM. Christopher will join teammate Audrey C. at the CCS Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday at Santa Clara University.

Audrey C.CN DiverQualifies, member of the Nueva Swimming & Diving team, finished 5th and posted qualifying scores at the Brian Tanner Memorial Meet, held at Presentation HS on April 8.  She will represent Nueva at the CCS Championship on May 12 at Santa Clara.


CN PoetryInTheWRCGathered around a large plate of cookies, and set against the drama of whether the pizza would arrive on time, a couple dozen students and a handful of faculty from the Upper School met on Wednesday to celebrate National Poetry Month. Midway through Nueva’s Art Appreciation Week celebration, the group was immersed in verse from the likes of Allen Ginsberg, William Shakespeare, Wallace Stevens, Jack Spicer, Ernest Thayer, and Pablo Neruda.

CN quest heroQuest Night 2017 kicked off at noon on April 6th, as students from the Nueva Middle School streamed onto the Upper School campus, chatting excitedly, ready to see what Upper Schoolers had created and accomplished.



CN soundwaves hero2It’s been a stellar year for the upper school’s a capella team, the Soundwaves. In early March, the club team won 2nd place at the West Coast semifinals of the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA) Tournament. A week later the class team traveled to Anaheim, CA for the Heritage Music Festival at Disneyland and took home first place in the women’s choir division.
