Gifted Students of Color Conference

The 2021 conference has been canceled. We look forward to its return in 2022.

Multicolored Hands

Our biennial Gifted Students of Color Conference is held in conjunction with our Giftedness Institute. This one-day virtual conference focuses on the challenges we, as PreK–12 educators, psychologists, and parents, face when trying to identify and support gifted learners of color. This conference is of particular value to educators who work in communities with African American and Latinx students.

The GSOC Conference provides an enriching framework around the intellectual, academic, and psychosocial traits of gifted students of color by sharing student vignettes that dispel myths and negative stereotypes; discussing the impact of implicit bias on recognizing giftedness; and sharing identification protocols found to be successful in identifying gifted students of color. You do not need to attend the Giftedness Institute to attend this one-day post-conference.
