Welcome to the Lower School

The Nueva experience for children in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade sets young gifted learners on a trajectory of lifelong learning, advocating for themselves and others, and reflecting on and designing their own lives.

As you embark on this self-guided virtual tour of our lower school, we hope you see the students’ freedom as they explore the campus: the garden, the forts, the I-Lab, and more. We want you to feel how the students inculcate the trust of the adults around them who ask for their voices in choosing their projects and showing their mastery; and teachers who fortify their beliefs in the value of intellectual risks and a “bias toward action.”

Welcome to the Middle School

The Middle School experience at Nueva is unique, we believe that the MS years is an important transitional time for any student, and we understand and embrace gifted learners who are curious, thoughtful, and adaptable.

Upper School

Welcome to the Upper School

The San Mateo campus. — The Nueva Upper School reinvents the high school experience by putting students first. With support from advisors, students select from more than 100 electives that satisfy graduation requirements and allow them to dive deeply into exciting subjects. Assignments center around authentic, real-world challenges, and are flexibly structured to allow students to be creative and incorporate their personal interests.

Surrounded by a community dedicated to intellectual pursuits, collaborative projects are dynamic and thought-provoking. From examining historical trends through unique lenses to writing code for mathematical processes, Nueva students are capable, adaptable, interdisciplinary thinkers.
