Identifying Gifted Students of Color Conference
We invite you to join us for our 2021 virtual conference!
August 13, 2021
10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Our 2021 conference will be held in conjunction with our Giftedness Institute. This one-day virtual conference focuses on the challenges we, as PreK–12 educators, psychologists, and parents, face when trying to identify and support gifted learners of color. This conference is of particular value to educators who work in communities with African American and Latinx students.
IGSOCC provides an enriching framework around the intellectual, academic, and psychosocial traits of gifted students of color by sharing student vignettes that dispel myths and negative stereotypes; discussing the impact of implicit bias on recognizing giftedness; and sharing identification protocols found to be successful in identifying gifted students of color. You do not need to attend the Giftedness Institute to attend this one-day post-conference.
