Athletics at Nueva

Nueva’s athletics program has achieved great success in five short years as a preK-12 school.

Our students pursue multiple passions, and for many, representing Nueva as a scholar athlete is vital to their experience. Our participation is significant for such a young program: 64% of students in grades 4-8 and 50% of upper school students participate in Nueva athletics.

“Being a Nueva athlete is a special opportunity to represent my school while competing in the sport I love. The Nueva athletics program is dynamic and supportive, creating a positive atmosphere of challenge and camaraderie.”

Nueva Eleventh-Grade Student

We believe in the importance of healthy competition, learning, and participation, and our students bring their talents, heart, and drive to their game. We measure success in positive outcomes and in the values that make athletics meaningful in the lives of our students: cross-grade connections, school spirit, new friends, exercise and well-being, collegiate opportunities, and FUN!

We believe in “Yes, and.” Our scholar athletes can be found leading debate tournaments, performing or building sets for school drama performances, or creating in Robotics club.

“I think Nueva is unique because of its unending flexibility in allowing us student-athletes to really throw ourselves into our athletic lives without compromising our academic careers.”
