Complete and submit the Family Information Form and the nonrefundable application fee of $100. In Ravenna, you can learn more about an application fee waiver for families applying for financial assistance. 

Families are welcome to submit their child's IQ assessment results before submitting the Family Information Form. IQ assessment results must be within our target range to be considered for admission.

The Wechsler IQ assessment is one of the first steps in our application process. Please contact a licensed psychologist to schedule your child's IQ assessment. For your convenience, here is a list of licensed psychologists who administer these assessments in our area. Please note: this is not an exhaustive list; we accept reports from any licensed psychologist. 

Review our IQ Assessment Guidelines for Families for more detailed information about assessment requirements. You will need to send psychologists the signed Release Form and the Submission Guidelines for Psychologists form.

Complete and submit the Application for IQ Assessment Financial Assistance Voucher if you'd like to request financial assistance for the IQ assessment. Make sure to submit the Family Information Form on Ravenna before applying for assistance. Nueva vouchers are valid only for psychologists included on our Psychologist Resource List.

This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to tell us a bit more about their applicant.

Kira is the platform we use to host the Parent/Guardian Video Questionnaire. You’ll be asked to record short video responses to a few questions about your student and family. The system will guide you through each step, and you’ll have time to prepare before recording. You’re welcome to complete the questionnaire in one sitting or take breaks and return to it whenever it’s convenient for you.

We encourage you to explore Nueva through our website, events, or other resources before beginning the Parent/Guardian Video Questionnaire. Having a sense of our program and community will help you feel more prepared and comfortable as you share your family’s story with us.

Once you’ve completed the prerequisites listed below, the Parent/Guardian Video Questionnaire step will appear in Ravenna. It will include a personalized link to complete the questionnaire through our Kira platform.

We offer a very limited number of Activity Sessions for applicants to grades 1–4.

Once we’ve received some or all of the following—in-range IQ assessment results, the Family Information Form, school transcripts, and teacher evaluation forms—we will review the application materials to determine whether an Activity Session would be a helpful next step. If so, we’ll reach out directly to the family. Because of this, we encourage families to submit these materials by early November, if possible. That said, we will continue accepting all required materials through January 8, 2026.

Student evaluation forms are completed and submitted in Ravenna directly by the applicant's school.

  • For students applying to grades 1–4, we require the previous year's progress reports/grades, standardized test scores (that are a part of a student’s cumulative file), and current grades when they become available (usually late January). All materials should be uploaded to Ravenna by the student’s current school, not the parents.

Nueva considers only required application materials and evaluations, so we respectfully request no additional documents be submitted on behalf of a student or their family. Additional letters of support, including those from current Nueva community members, will not be added to a student's application.
