Upper School
Trips Program
At Nueva, our Upper School trips are so much more than a break from the classroom—they’re a hands-on, real-world extension of everything we believe in: learning by doing and learning by caring.
These experiences are rooted in our core values—including curiosity, creativity, and student voice—and they offer students a chance to explore, connect, and grow in ways that are both exciting and meaningful.
Whether students are hiking through a national park, navigating a new city, or engaging with local communities, they’re learning deeply—not just about the world, but about themselves. Every trip is designed with purpose, using a place-based approach that ties local experiences to global understanding.
We also make space for post-trip reflection, encouraging students to think about how these experiences shape who they are and what they care about. Sustainability is a big part of the equation, too—we want our trips to have a positive impact on both our students and the communities they visit.
Ultimately, Upper School trips at Nueva are about more than just where students go—they are about who students become along the way. They are thoughtfully designed to support both personal and academic growth and to help students become engaged, globally aware citizens.
Spring 2025 Trips in 60 Photos
From April 3 to 10, 2025, Upper Schoolers took part in 20 different trips across the globe. Whether they were practicing their language skills in Taiwan, Argentina, and Japan; exploring land conservation efforts in Montana; diving into the role of libraries in democracy in Boston and New York City; or experiencing the vibrant cultures of Puerto Rico and Mexico City—each experience was built around the core values we hold dear: inquiry, connection, and reflection.
