At "80s" Auction, Alum Reflects on Power of Nueva Education
Mitzi Mock, Digital Storyteller

Prince and Axl Rose. Scrunchies and crimped hair. A kaleidoscope of neon, sparkle, and rainbow Slinky toys. Last week’s Annual Benefit Auction, "Back to the 80s," was so rad even Marty McFly would travel Back to the Future just to be there! From totally outrageous costumes to student rock bands shredding on stage, check out highlights from all the action on our Facebook page.

One of the best parts of time travel? Looking back and knowing an amazing education led to an even brighter future. Auction attendees heard from Nueva alum Kimberly Preston ('09) and her mother Brenda, who shared their reflections on the power of a Nueva education — and the financial awards that made it possible for Kimberly to attend. Funds raised from the Annual Benefit Auction give gifted learners like Kimberly an opportunity to thrive at Nueva and beyond. Watch her story!
