Nueva Social Impact Filmmaking Club (SIFC)

The 2022 Nueva Artist Spotlight is a short film created by the Nueva Social Impact Filmmaking Club (SIFC) which provides students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and delve into their inspirations, motivations, and more! Coffeehouse, the TVs around campus, and our personal curiosities about our peers’ passions were all inspirations for this piece. We hope that you can walk away from this experience with a newfound appreciation for the artist community at Nueva and feel inspired to explore creative art forms yourself!

At the start of the new year, Nueva welcomed Brett McCabe as Nueva’s athletics director and newest member of the Extended Leadership Team. We sat down with him to learn more about his journey to Nueva, his excitement about this new role, and why he decided to move back to Northern California, the first place he called home.

Karin Storm Wood joined Nueva this summer all the way from Brooklyn, New York as both a member of our leadership team and a Nueva parent. She has already begun immersing herself in the community—wearing both hats!—and getting to know the people that make Nueva special.

Savannah Strong joins the Nueva Leadership Team as our new Director of Social Justice & Equity. Her work involves close partnerships with all members of the Nueva community. Director of Communications Karin Storm Wood (whose own Q&A will appear in an upcoming issue of Nueva Notes) sat down with Savannah for a conversation just before the first day of school.
