Empowering school practitioners to build spaces where everyone feels they belong.
This four-day institute invites educators, school leaders, and staff to deeply explore and engage with what it means to build institutional belonging across school communities. Grounded in contemporary practices of equity and inclusion, and on and offline community building strategies, the institute centers belonging not as an abstract value or buzzword, but as a shared and lived practice shaped by policies, relationships, school culture, and everyday interactions.
Participants will engage in a dynamic and immersive blend of theory and practice, examining how mutual accountability, collective care, and joy are essential components of belonging for all school constituents—students, educators, staff, families, and leaders. Through interactive workshops, collaborative inquiry, case studies, and hands-on design work, participants will reflect on their own institutional contexts and develop concrete strategies for fostering inclusive, affirming environments, at every level.
Rather than a lecture-based experience, this institute prioritizes active participation, dialogue, and co-creation. Participants will leave with practical tools, shared language, and actionable plans to strengthen belonging within their institutions—grounded in equity and accountability, and fueled by joy.
