Spotlight Wednesday: Wednesday, October 16, 2019 – For Educators Only
Historically a two day conference, the ILC is growing this year with the addition of Spotlight Wednesday. The topic is lesson study in mathematics. Nueva is partnering with San Francisco Unified School District and invites participants into the innovative mathematics professional development practices of the district. Attendees will see a live research lesson in mathematics, including expert commentary and a moderated group debrief. The afternoon will include breakout sessions.
· Open to educators only.
· Registration is extremely limited and will be capped at 80.
· Will take place at Hillcrest Elementary School in San Francisco.
Educators' Day: Thursday, October 17, 2019 – For Educators Only
Educator’s Day includes presentations, workshops, demonstration lessons, and classroom observations. Smaller in scope than Friday’s conference, the majority of sessions are presented by Nueva teachers, but they are joined by a handful of external speakers. School is in session, so attendees are able to observe the Nueva School in action throughout the day.
· Open to educators only.
· As school is in session on Thursday, there is limited campus capacity, and registration will be capped at 400.
· Sessions will be held at both Nueva School campuses, Hillsborough and Bay Meadows.
Main Conference: Friday, October 18, 2019 – Open to All
Our audience expands to include educators, parents, students, administrators, community leaders. The majority of speakers come from outside of Nueva- thought leaders whose work contributes significantly to innovations in education. Sessions include presentations and workshops, as well as some moderated panels. Nueva School is not in session.
· Open to professional educators, school administrators, parents, and community members.
· Sessions will be held at the Nueva School Bay Meadows campus only.
