Anti-racist Communications Strategy Session

Communications strategies for communications teams, administrators, and equity and social justice leaders in independent schools

Communications teams play a critical role in sharing their schools' stories and identities. On September 11, 2020 and October 16, 2020, we brought together more than 75 Bay Area independent school professionals to discuss key antiracist principles and shared with one another ideas and strategies for becoming antiracist in our communications work.

The goal of these sessions was to bring everybody together to hold space for these important conversations and to come away with concrete steps and best practices for how to move forward in our roles.

The Sept. 11 session focused on building community, creating a shared set of antiracist best practices for our work in communications, and sharing ideas with one another.

The Oct. 16 session built on the first session, and also focused on the role of communications team during the 2020 election cycle.
