Fourth Grade Makes Prime Time
Channel 7 ABC News recently featured Nueva fourth graders working on their Acropolis sand carvings. As part of their extensive study of ancient Greece, students ventured to San Francisco's Crissy Field where they constructed parts of the ancient Greek citadel, including the Parthenon, Erechtheum, Propylaea, and Temple of Athena Nike. Studying ancient Greece relates to the grade's overall theme, The Path of the Hero, which provides an avenue to understand the archetypal principles embedded in the paths of mythical, literary, and real-life heroes, as well as the journeys of everyday people, including ourselves.
