Nueva Weekend

turtlesOn the weekend of February 11-12, Nueva's Hillborough campus will be hosting two events aimed at providing fun and meaningful learning opportunities for high-achieving students from Nueva and beyond.

Nueva Weekend, for students in third and fourth grade, consists of an amazing team of Nueva lower and middle school teachers, including:

  • Dalton Lobo Dias (Middle School Science Teacher and table tennis player extraordinaire)
  • Rebecca Loveless (Lower School Reading Specialist and Structured Word Inquiry expert)
  • Zubin Mobedshahi (Lower School Physical Education Teacher and resident Nueva ecologist)
  • Lora Saarnio (Lower School Math Specialist)

Rebecca and Zubin will team-teach an ecology course that includes exploration of both our on-campus wilderness and the language we use to describe the flora and fauna found there. In the afternoon, Dalton and Lora will lead an exploration of biology-related stations through hands-on investigations looking at patterns in nature, scale, the challenge of classification and identification of the unknown.

This program will run from 9:00 to 2:30 on Saturday, February 11th. The programs costs $130 and lunch will be provided. A PDF of the full announcement is available here, download the Nueva Weekend application, here
