At 4–0 on the season, the varsity golf team has been impressive on the greens. After beating KIPP San Jose, Half Moon Bay, King’s Academy, and Crystal Springs Uplands, the team looks to continue its winning ways as it heads into second-round match play.
Ten athletes made the trip to Azusa Pacific this past weekend to compete in the Adidas Distance Meet of Champions. All ten medaled in their heats, setting personal and school records in the process. Five runners on the varsity track team now rank in the top 20 for the entire Central Coast Section in their respective events.
The varsity boys’ tennis team claimed recent victories against Pinewood (5–2) and Woodside Priory (7–0), while dropping close matches against Crystal (3–4) and King’s Academy (3–4). This week’s contests include second-round matches against Harker and Priory.
Competing in its inaugural season, the varsity swim team took part in the Small Schools Invitational on March 18 and WBAL Jamboree #1 on March 23. Meet highlights included first place boys’ 100 backstroke (Small Schools), second place boys’ 100 fly (Small Schools), second place boys’ 50 freestyle (WBAL), second place boys’ 100 freestyle (WBAL), third place boys’ 100 breaststroke (WBAL), and seventh place girls’ 100 breaststroke (WBAL).
The varsity girls’ softball team is 2–2 on the season, with back-to-back victories in its past two games against Alma Heights and Latino College Prep. Nueva hitters swatted both a home run and a grand slam in their win over LCP last week.
