US Culmination Dec2016

At Nueva, culminations are an important part of learning; they allow students to share their work with an audience of their peers, faculty, parents, and guests. Culminations are held at all grade levels, for different purposes, and at different times of year.

The Upper School Electives Culmination was held on Friday, December 2, and showcased students of every grade presenting their work across the nearly 60 electives offered to upper school students. In addition, this evening was a great opportunity for upper school students who are not currently in those classes to experience elective offerings to help them make future class choices.

The evening offered attendees six 15-minute blocks during which they could observe a student presentation. Students shared their work in all disciplines — including arts, STEM, literature, and humanities — highlighting integrated curriculum and project work. Musical performances by the Nueva Steel Drum Band, Soundwaves, Nueva Jazz Band, and the Advanced Rock Ensemble enlivened the halls with student spirit while displays of photography, paintings, drawings, and fabrications filled the spaces of the Bay Meadows campus with beauty.
