MS JV Girls Soccer Dec2016

The JV girls’ soccer team (MS) beat Sacred Heart 1-0 in near darkness on Monday night to clinch the West Bay Athletic League (WBAL) championship. Midway through the first half, sixth-grade striker Mia T. scored the winning goal with an assist by sixth-grade center midfielder Kayla H. The Nueva team, made up of fourth, fifth, and sixth graders, faced the league's sixth-grade teams in a division that included Sacred Heart Prep, Menlo, Harker, Castilleja, Girls Middle School, and Crystal Springs. This is Nueva's first girls’ soccer championship in the league.

MS Authors visitNoted children’s author and illustrator Raina Telgemeier spoke to Middle School students on Monday about her influences and inspirations and provided a detailed look into her work process.

 

 

FoodTruckStudent Council Co-President Ananya S. had a novel idea that would forge stronger community bonds and foster acts of kindness. She organized the inaugural Food Truck Friday celebration on the opening night of the school musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Brooklyn Pizzeria and Garden Creamery trucks were on the middle school campus open for all community members to enjoy together.

Todo Comic story 490pxOn December 9th, the Nueva School will dedicate a new outdoor space to Joey Kovacevich. Joey was a student in the class of 2022 who died of cancer in the summer of 2013. To honor his memory, Nueva has dedicated a new outdoor space to him near the Lower School.
