Final ILC EducatorsAd 8.25x5.25 UPDATED1

Every other year, the Innovative Learning Conference brings educational thought leaders, practitioners, teachers, and parents from public and independent schools to Nueva for two days of engaging, challenging, and inspiring discussions.

For example, on Friday, October 20, you can attend Lost in Connection: Rebooting Healthy Boundaries in Our Use of Technology, a workshop presented by Catherine Steiner-Adair, EdD. The author of The Big Disconnect, she is also a clinical psychologist, school consultant, and research associate at Harvard Medical School.

Steiner-Adair will present new research on the positive and negative impacts of tech-mediated communication on attention, empathy, learning, and social skills. You will gain insights into how our devices often distract and confuse us in obscure ways. Did you know that merely having a phone on the desktop, face down, can negatively impact learning? She also will explore how we can use these same devices to enhance learning and social communication, while teaching ourselves and our students how to establish healthy boundaries.

This year’s ILC, our sixth over the course of ten years, takes place October 19 and 20 and features more than one hundred notable speakers and panelists. A few registration spots remain available for Friday only. Register today to join our exploration of innovative ways to create engaging, cross-disciplinary learning experiences that transcend traditional barriers and boundaries to help students solve challenges — today and tomorrow.
