Mad Scientist

 In this inquiry-based science enrichment course designed specially for kindergartners, we will use a combination of hands-on experiments and teacher-led demonstrations to celebrate the joy of scientific discovery while working to increase students' scientific literacy. This course will allow students to follow their curiosity, ask questions, and explore scientific concepts so they can learn to think scientifically and better understand how the world works.

Soccer Basics

Gooooooaalll! Gooooooaalll! The main goal of this course will be to provide a safe and non-threatening atmosphere for skill growth and group cooperation. Each class will open with a warm up activity, a group participation activity, a more specialized skill activity, a game, and a closing skill to remember and work on at home. This class will focus on making soccer fun as the children grow their skills.

Sewing and Fashion Design

Suggested grade: 1-2
Sewing and Fashion design students will learn how to express their creativity and individuality by designing and sewing their own PJ bottoms and other sleepover items. Additional projects are available for students after completing a PJ set like t-shirt, skirt, pillows and other items. Students will learn basic sewing and designing techniques while making well-fitting clothing for themselves as well as having fun with their friends.

The Joy of Cooking

Where does food come from? Why do we eat the food that we do? Through a collaborative and hands-on approach to making delicious food, students will learn fundamental cooking skills, and study the impact of food consumption and production on cultures everywhere. Students will create a variety of global cuisines and American classics, and will have an opportunity to explore the life cycle of ingredients such as basil through the process of gardening. In addition, students will begin to understand the role math and science play in everyday cooking and conduct their own experiments with food.
