Our Program

Thumbnail imageThe Nueva School provides an athletics program that helps students acquire the skills and core competencies to allow them to capture the social and emotional benefits from healthy competition as well as learn to enjoy lifelong physical activity and fitness.

Who Plays?

As part of the overall physical education program, Nueva's athletics program blends competitive aspects of athletics with Nueva's philosophy of coaching students toward lifelong learning and a passion for sports. To that end, every student with interest in afterschool sports is strongly encouraged to join.

Everyone is accepted on a team, and everyone can participate at their level of skill. Teams are generally formed through assessment, while groupings take into account age and developmental ability. Based on enrollment, teams are added to accommodate all interested and committed students. In addition, depending on enrollment, teams may be all boys, all girls, or coed. There's a team for all interested students!
