Nueva places strong emphasis on music and performance. Music demands higher-level thinking skills, which include the ability to analyze, sequence, and identify patterns. Nueva students are introduced to these three elements at an early age, and the music program's instrumental, vocal, and general music curricula provides broad exposure for students and guides them in a journey of appreciation and performance.

Brown Bag Concerts I am pleased to announce the commencement of our 2008–09 Brown Bag concert series! This year we will have 12 concerts (see schedule below) all taking place in the Mansion Ballroom on Fridays during the Lower School lunch period (12:05-12:30). While very popular with our Lower School instrumental students, Brown Bag concerts are open to all students. They provide participants a unique opportunity to gain valuable performance experience in front of a supportive audience in a casual environment. In keeping with the name, parents of student performers and/or audience members should plan on providing a "brown bag" lunch as an alternative to the regular Café lunch on concert days.
