The Humanities program utilizes an interdisciplinary curriculum in which students apply theories and concepts to the material. We incorporate history, geography, and the language arts to explore a central theme, topic, or experience. Through the study of archeology, sociology, economics, and political science, students hone their critical thinking and communication skills.

Depth and Complexity in the Classroom: Making Connections and Asking the Big Questions Print E-mail
Every fall, sixth, seventh and eighth graders focus on a themed study in humanities, and the theme rotates every three years so that by the time of graduation, each grade has had a chance to experience every area of study. The three themes in rotation typically are globalization, the Silk Road, and California history and the novel.
