SIR KEN ROBINSON, Ph.D. on Creativity and Innovation: Sir Ken Robinson is one of the world’s leading thinkers on creativity, innovation, and 21st century learning. Wise, witty, and incisive, he challenges parents, teachers, and government leaders to rethink their priorities and expectations for our youth. In today’s global economy, he says creativity and innovation are not “exotic, optional extras” but rather “strategic necessities” for survival. The gifted educator offers a pragmatic guide designed to help all of us recognize our innate talents and life passions. Dr. Robinson's internationally renowned books include The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything and Out of Our Minds: Learning to Be Creative. Download the flyer. Her books include Just Because It’s Not Wrong Doesn’t Make It Right and The Bully, the Bullied and the Bystander. Mr. Wolff has written 18 books, including Parenting Young Athletes the Ripken Way with Cal Ripken and Good Sports: The Concerned Parent’s Guide to Competitive Sports. Tuesday, March 20, 9 am Tuesday, March 20, 7 pm Wednesday, March 21, 7 pm AYELET WALDMAN on Imperfect Parenting: Get ready for an irreverent evening that celebrates the joys of imperfect parenting with novelist and essayist Ayelet Waldman. Ms. Waldman, wife of Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Chabon and mother of four, is a refreshingly honest, self-deprecating, and hilarious commentator on juggling marriage, children, and career. She has published several well-received novels and a controversial collection of essays called Bad Mother: A Chronicle of Maternal Crimes, Minor Calamities and Occasional Moments of Grace. Ms. Waldman recently leapt into the Tiger Mom parenting debate, championing “The Guilty, Ambivalent, Preoccupied Western Mom” in an essay that wryly extolled the wisdom of letting kids quit activities, have sleepovers, and find their own way in the world.
