A time between semesters for interdisciplinary exploration with real world experts. An intellectual and experiential feast covering a wide range of topics extending way beyond the usual academic disciplines. Students choose from the curated 2017 catalogue of over 150 seminars, intensives, activity sessions, and field trips offered during the two weeks of Intersession, led by over 100 different presenters.
Students are free to mix and match the different types of sessions over the course of the two weeks.
Seminars – Deep- dive sessions that meet two hours a day over three days. Students can experience up to four seminars during Intersession.
Activity Sessions – Stand-alone lectures, panel discussions, or interactive experiences that meet one day for 90 minutes. Students can experience up to six activity sessions.
Intensives – Interactive, retreat-style workshops held either on or off-campus that meet all day for three days. Students can experience up to two intensives.
Many students who took the Making Cuban Music seminar also signed up for the Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble intensive, performing on stage with world-class Cuban musicians during the Lower and Middle School Friday assembly.
