Dean of College Counseling
Joining Nueva in August, 2015, Patricia brings to Nueva a long and distinguished career in secondary school college counseling, college admissions, and institutional advancement. Most recently, Pat was responsible for college counseling at the Hopkins School of New Haven, Connecticut, the fourth oldest independent secondary school in the country (1660!), just down the street from Yale, the third oldest college in the country. Previous leadership roles have included Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Scripps College, Director of Student Recruitment and High School Services at the University of Utah, and member of the National Guidance and Admission Assembly Council of the College Board. Pat started her career as an admissions officer at Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges. Pat earned a BA in Literature from Kirkland, now Hamilton, College and a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
Erika joined Nueva in August of 2015 with over 15 years of professional experience, most recently over 5 years of college counseling support at The Harker School and Marin Academy. She has extensive experience helping manage the college counseling process including in-depth understanding of college application requirements and process, strength in developing college relationships, and has proven experience in student/parent support services. Previously, Erika worked for Carlos Santana’s band and foundation as office administrator, human resource coordinator, and fan club party planner! She earned a BA in Social Science from San Francisco State University.
Paul Gallagher is Nueva’s new associate dean of college counseling. Nueva conducted an exhaustive and lengthy search to find Paul, who brings a broad and deep set of experiences and skills. A graduate of the oldest independent school in the country, Roxbury Latin, Paul went on to pursue his BA at Middlebury College with a major in history and minors in physics and math. His first job was at the Wooster School in Danbury, Connecticut, where he taught physics and statistics, coached, and served on the admissions committee. Most recently, he has served as assistant dean of admission and financial aid at Davidson College in North Carolina. Warm and approachable with a delightful sense of humor, Paul completes Nueva’s college counseling team.
