Program Goals:

The goals of our art program encompass every age of student and discipline of art. We want our students to:

  • Maintain the undiluted desire to explore and create that our very youngest students bring to Nueva
  • Follow their individual creativity and passion, while making or looking at art, and to have fun
  • See themselves as capable artists with specific skills in a wide variety of media, with capacity for growth
  • Develop a lifelong passion to use visual and performing arts as a language of expression and discovery, whether working within the arts or integrating it with other disciplines including humanities, STEM, etc
  • Experience and interpret the vast world of historical and contemporary art that they will encounter in their lives from the informed position of participant as well as observer.
