Welcome to our 50th Anniversary, “Reflections on Our Future!”
Fifty years have passed since Karen Stone-McCown opened the doors of a rented property in Menlo Park, creating a haven to educate and inspire students of high potential.
Nueva has never been more true to those roots. Now two campuses with a population grown exponentially from those first days in 1967, our principles of gifted education in an inclusive, empathic community that values innovation continue to enable our students to soar.
This year we reflect on where we’ve come from, celebrate where we are today, and dream about where we’ll take our future.
We will share the 50th Anniversary celebration with you in many ways. We will
- Infuse our traditional Nueva events including Tea on the Plaza, Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day, and the Benefit Auction with stories of their origins.
- Welcome alumni to our two campuses through a program of events.
- Honor contributions of past faculty.
- Tell stories of our history visually, through photo essays regularly throughout the year in Nueva Notes and here on our 50th page.
Culminating our yearlong celebration will be our 50th Anniversary Party held at our Hillsborough campus on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017.
Please watch your email, like us on Facebook, check Nueva Notes, and come back here for updates and information.
