Applications for the Teaching Internship Program are accepted throughout the year, with interviews beginning in February for the following school year. A bachelor's degree, experience working with young children, and a passion for learning all aspects of the teaching profession are prerequisites for the position.

Associate Teachers spend two years at Nueva, learning under the mentorship of experienced teachers in two different self-contained classrooms in kindergarten through fourth grade. Nueva employs ten full-time Associate Teachers, as well as two part-time Associate Teachers in kindergarten.
